About Robert
Born in the UK to a mad painter-poet and a voracious book-hound, Robert started writing in childhood by crafting toddler beat-poetry about smashing a neighbour’s cucumber frames. When he got older, though, he abandoned violence towards vegetable gardens, and instead dove into writing all kinds of speculative fiction–fantasy, sci-fi, and now and then, the kinds of stories where people eat their loved ones’ eyes.
These days, he calls the USA home, and lives there with his wife and their two ragdoll cats, Mochi and Mist. They’re all a lot cuter than he is, and you can find a few pictures of the two kitties in the Chamber of Felines.
As for his stories, you can find them in Kaleidotrope, PodCastle, and On Spec Magazine, amongst others. A full list of his published stories, as well as forthcoming ones, can be found by clicking the “My Fiction” link above.
Favourite Stories
Here are a few of my favourite stories, in reverse order of publication (I hope, if I’ve done this correctly), which is always subject to change by addition as I remember things I want to include here:
- “The Witch Trap”, by Jennifer Hudak, in Lady Churchill’s Rosebud Wristlet #48
- “With the City on Her Shoulders”, by Carol Scheina, in Orion’s Belt
- “Proof By Induction”, by José Pablo Iriarte, in Uncanny Magazine
- “The Air We Breathe Is Stormy, Stormy”, by Rich Larson, in Strange Horizons
Convenient Cat Platform
Just an image clearly illustrating my place in our household’s hierarchy.
